I was going to see my elderly Grandma this weekend, as I usually do.
She’s turned 94 years seasoned and is incredibly frail at this point in her life.
Because of this age, it makes activities around the condo difficult for her to complete, and I prefer to visit every weekend to help out with biweekly chores as much as I possibly can. She’s made it this far, and I wanted to make sure she was consistently taken care of. I also try to call at least biweekly to ensure she’s okay. One afternoon, I observed that the old condo was actually hot and humid, and when I looked around inside for any source of cooling, she did not have any! I was actually surprised to find this out; I would have thought that most houses would have had an a/c installed by now. But his condo is incredibly old. She honestly seemed to not mind it that all that much, even though I wondered and great deal if I could possibly help with that. Paying for a complete a/c installation was fairly fancy and I didn’t have the money to spend at hand at that point. I knew my Grandma was fairly seasoned fashioned, so instead of sitting around and being cooped up in a hot condo all afternoon, I started taking both of us out on small walks with myself and others at night. It is actually refreshingly cool at night, and there was a cooling breeze. I also put a fan firmly in the window to bring in a cool breeze, which helped a lot with the complete lack of a/c system. This seemed to put his at ease a bit, and both of us eventually started spending the mornings looking at the stars in the sky, joyously pointing out all of the brightest stars.
